Industry Training Hub - Wanneroo
www.cciwa.comIndustry Training Hubs aim to improve opportunities for young people in Years 11 & 12 in regions with high youth unemployment. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA (CCIWA) is contracted to deliver the Armadale Industry Training Hub program. From a centrally located office in Wanneroo, the local team will build connections within the community - partnering local businesses with Year 11 and Year 12 students who are looking for employment opportunities that build on their skillsets and improve their future opportunities. Working with these young people, the team at the Wanneroo Industry Training Hub will encourage them to build skills and choose occupations that are in demand within the region, creating a better linkage between local schools and industry. Career Facilitators in Industry Training Hubs are an on-the-ground presence to map skills shortages and form partnerships between local employers, schools and those providing advice and education to students, aiming to understand the skill requirements that are needed within the region to help eliminate persistently high youth unemployment in regional areas. They work closely with school career advisors and other school representatives to support high school students in accessing training and other pathways that link to local employment. Our Facilitator acts as a dedicated liaison point within the wider community, which includes schools, industry, employers and Vocational Education and Training providers. Career Facilitators services differ from those provided by career advisors in schools, Employment Facilitator, Apprenticeship Network Providers, Registered Training Organisations or other training or job matching services.
