Happy Kids Clinic offers speech therapy to Khmer and expat families living in Phnom Penh. Speech therapy involves the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of people with communication difficulties or impairments. A communication impairment is a difficulty that prevents people from getting their message across or from understanding what people are saying to them. Some examples of communication impairments can include: * A child who is not talking or only saying single words when they are older than 2 years old * A child who is difficult to understand when they are more than 3 years old because they say speech sounds incorrectly * A child who stutters * A child who does not seem to understand instructions given by their family or teacher * A child who gets their sentences mixed up, putting words in the wrong order * A child who does not understand the social rules of communication A child who has no other difficulties may still have problems talking for no obvious reason.
