According to 2020 census data, the State of Texas is home to approximately 800,000 American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN), with over 220,000 of them residing in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, comprising 2.7% of the state’s population and 3.3% of the DFW population. Texas Native Health offers a wide range of direct services including primary care, dental services, on-site pharmacy, behavioral health and substance abuse counseling, tuition assistance, job training, and cultural activities.
