Void is an artist-run centre that has been in operation since 2012. Over the years it has taken a number of forms as its organizers have tried to create space for those who have too often been excluded by the western art world. Most recently, it operated as a screen print and risograph studio that both allowed people to learn these techniques and worked with established artists to produce editions of their work. A number of different people have been part of Void's organizing team, but throughout it has been led by Michael Peterson. Michael is Métis, and Void has continues to try to learn and honour Indigenous values. In one form or another, Void operated out of a physical location for nine years. Since moving out of its Riversdale location, and with Michael moving to Ottawa to be a Program Officer for the Canada Council for the Arts, Void's activities have slowed, but may pop-up here and there for different opportunities. Currently Michael, as well as another long-time Void collaborator, Chris Morin, put most of their energy into the art and apparel brand Shop Cold Pizza.
