On September 10, 2002, the Govt. of the Punjab, through an ordinance, established University of Education and Govt. College of Education was declared a campus of the newly established university. Since then, the Lower Mall Campus has been rendering commendable services to the cause of education in Pakistan. The Campus offers various programs including M.Ed., MA Education, MPhil Education, PhD Education, MPhil Urdu, PhD Urdu, BBA(Hons), MBA 3.5 Years, MBA 1.5 Year, MSc Economics and BS English. In the academic year 2013-14, two new courses B.Ed. Hons (4 years) and MA Special Education are being launched. The Lower Mall Campus has been the center of research activity in the field of teacher training and education. The Campus has the services of highly qualified faculty members with PhDs both from Pakistan and abroad. The faculty members are a wonderful blend of youth and experience. A number of young faculty members are currently enrolled in various doctoral programs and some of them are expected to get their degrees in the next academic year. This ensemble of experience and youth ensures a cordial and congenial environment for the students.
