I & M Bank that acquired BCR, buying majority shares (80%) in July 2012, hence the new brand name I & M Bank. The bank changed its name to I & M Bank ( Rwanda) Ltd to have one regionally recognizable identity for our customers in all the countries where we have branches i.e. Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania & Mauritius. The name changed immediately after 50th anniversary celebrations to allow the Bank group to provide financial services across the region. The name change therefore represents the vision of the bank to provide its customers with an international service standards, on wider regional network.
