W H Barley (Transport & Storage) Limited is based in Wolverton, Milton Keynes and first commenced trading in 1970. It was founded by our Chairman Peter Barber and is still a family run business providing pallet distribution and warehouse solutions from the Milton Keynes depot. It was borne from the existing family business of distribution within the Retail & Wholesale sector. The business grew from a need to utilise the existing delivery fleet more efficiently and the provision of a full load service to the local business community in Milton Keynes. Peter Barber was instrumental in W H Barley becoming an active member of Palletline Plc, in addition to The Transport Association. Both organisations have been powerful allies in aiding growth, enabling W H Barley to expand the geographical capabilities of the business, and offer its customers important service enhancements which support its well established pallet distribution and storage services. In 2010, Peter’s lifetime of service to our industry was recognised when he joined the prestigious Board of The Road Haulage Association. In his typically passionate style, Peter was an active Board Member and immediately lobbied Parliament over the levies and taxes imposed upon fuel. Over the years, W H Barley has adapted to the needs of its customers, and has invested wisely in a modern fleet, premises and technology, to compete in an ever-changing logistics industry.
