The state’s neglect, along with the sheer inadequacy of infrastructure in Pakistan has left millions of young children unable to fight their way out of the poverty-stricken struggle that seems to be their destiny. Renaissance Pakistan was initiated by a group of high school students in 2011 to revolutionise the education system in Pakistan by making quality education accessible to every child in our society. Initially, we gathered funds from our friends and family and opened our one-classroom school in a Katchi Abadi in Islamabad (Sector I/11, outside of Metro). Since then, our schools, and our dedication towards our cause has grown exponentially to accommodate quality education for hundreds of families in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. For us, exposing these kids to the larger world through activities like field trips, summer schools and iPad sessions are as important as learning from text books. We believe in producing rebellious intellectuals rather than obedient geniuses. Join us in this inspiring journey to produce some of world’s best leaders, scientists, philosophers, historians, lawyers, economists – you name it! All from the slums!
