Athena was founded in 2004 by Richard J. O’Brien, who is the company’s CEO and owner. Prior to the founding of Athena, Mr. O’Brien was CFO & EVP of FelCor Lodging Trust, a mid-cap hotel REIT and a Managing Director of GE Capital Real Estate. Earlier in his career he held managerial roles at J.P. Morgan and KPMG.
