The Waterways Watch Society (WWS) is a unique, independent society, which relies on the drive and passion of its volunteers and aims to bring people together to love our waters, and to inspire stewardship for our environment. Our dedicated volunteer members, perform regular boat, bike and kayak patrols in order to promote awareness, as well as observe and monitor the impact of litter and pollution on the environment to enable us to report back issues to the relevant authorities. Our aim is to provide a platform to educate and promote environmental and social awareness, so as to create a cleaner Singapore and protect our waterways. As a result of our member’s hard work, dedication and environmental awareness, WWS has earned endorsements and accolades from government agencies, which include the inaugural Presidents Award for the Environment (2006), the Watermark Honorary Award (2007) and recognition by Singapore’s Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong, in his National Day Rally speech in 2006.
