My Journey Forward
www.myjourneyforward.euMy Journey Forward is a private practice started up by Jessica Austin, Certified Coach, to coach individuals seeking a significant professional or personal transition. Her area of expertise is primarily in the areas of career and personal transition, leadership development, cultural awareness, geographic mobility and assimilation. In addition to face-to-face meetings, she coaches by telephone and Skype. This facilitates her ability to work with people living all over the world. How Does Coaching Work? "The possible dream becomes a probable plan.” Frederic M. Hudson, Ph.D., founder of The Hudson Institute Coaching is about change and action. Clients come to coaching because they want something to change. It can be a personal or professional challenge- often it is a combination. The goal Jessica shares with each client is that he or she will achieve his/her own personal success. Each client’s definition of success is different, so the client determines what area to focus on. Together they explore the challenge or issue the client is facing and his/her desired outcome. Possible scenarios are developed and considered. Thru Jessica’s skillful questioning and coaching the client determines what he or she wants- or needs- to work on, plan the “journey forward”, and actions the client will take to reach the goal. They meet regularly to review the client’s progress and current situation. Coaching is an intensive process that pushes the client to think critically and take action. The client must be committed to fully engage in the coaching process for coaching to be successful. The time it takes to complete the journey very much depends on the individual client. A typical engagement is to meet for 90 minutes every other week, for three to six months.
