The Learning Farm (TLF) was established in 2005 by co-founders Mee Kim and Gouri Mirpuri, supported by the Boston-based World Education (www.worlded.org) a non-profit organization. TLF was founded to address the lack of skills, opportunities, and hope amongst vulnerable youths living in Indonesia. The Learning Farm aims to -reduce the number of vulnerable youths, minimise environmental degradation, Improve employability skills, reduce rural-urban migration and ensure food security. Most of our youths at The Learning Farm are referred from organizations that work with vulnerable youths including refugees. The Learning Farm is a an educational residential programme, which aims to rebuild and empower vulnerable youths through teaching Organic Farming and soft skills such as computing and English. The program consists of two segments Basic and Advanced. The Basic Program is a 100 day basic course which includes vocational, entrepreneurial training activities, with an emphasis on obtaining a basic understanding of organic farming. The Advanced Program consists of Students that have graduated from the Basic course who would like to further continue their studies at TLF.
