DETREC was registered in 1993 as a Non-governmental organization. Committed to its purpose of serving the disadvantaged communities in Uganda through participatory capacity building by training (a sustainable way of capacity building), action research (empowering, enlightening, and enabling people to make decisions on their needs) and process facilitation (supporting community initiatives initiated by themselves and only facilitated by DETREC to ensure ownership and sustainability of community projects). With this expertise and increasing global changing concerns, DETREC has adapted to serve as a consultancy. DETREC is bent on preparing for the ever-changing future and continuing to make the society sustainable, with practical, inclusive, and liveable sustainable development alternatives. We do this with integrity, competency, and in an efficient manner with a team of young professionals.
