Established in 1978, HMR is the original Heavy Metal label. The label started bands such as The Scorpions, Accept, Witchfinder General, Diamond Head, UFO, Wrathchild, Vain, Slammer, The Atom Seed, Xentrix, City of God. Hundreds of rock bands started out with the label and it was there at the beginning of the NWOBHM.
