Using education to break the cycle of poverty Cecily’s Fund is an international development NGO founded in the UK in 1997 supporting the most vulnerable children. We are named after Cecily Eastwood, a young woman who died in a road accident while volunteering in Zambia. We are a leading provider of education support in Zambia and believe that education can provide a route out of poverty for orphans and vulnerable children, their families, and their communities. Together with our Zambian partners and using two decades’ experience, we develop sustainable interventions that lessen dependency, strengthen communities and improve livelihoods for the most vulnerable children and their families. Our programmes for children and young people both in and out of school help them to succeed, and to prepare for a better future in adulthood. We are working with communities to help make them stronger, more resilient, and more able to support the next generation.
