Sesame wheelchair lifts are 'hidden', so the staircase remains a commercial set of stairs to maximise footfall. The staircase can still be clad in whatever material the Client requires : marble, stone, mosaics etc. However, when a person in a wheelchair arrives, the stairs magically retract to reveal a platform lift. This enables the person in the wheelchair to glide stylishly into the building, with minimal fuss. Very James Bond.
