Tanen Directed Advertising provides creatively driven, full-service advertising infused with solid, direct marketing sensibility. From credit cards to collections, human resources to healthcare and genetic testing to gourmet chocolate, TDA delivers dramatic results in every channel for clients big and small. HISTORY Tanen Advertising began in 1985 in New York City. The founders, Ilene Cohn Tanen and Norman Tanen, left senior creative positions with Geers Gross, a British-owned agency, and Benton & Bowles and opened offices in the upcoming fashionable Flatiron district in NYC. During the first ten years, the agency built on its general advertising heritage, developing campaigns for Crate & Barrel, Revlon, Citibank, Workbench, NBC, and McGraw-Hill, among others. In 1995, Ilene took over the agency. Norman took over golf. And the desire for measurable, accountable advertising took over the industry. It wasn't new to Tanen. Focused, directed communication that generated trackable results was always the agency's strength. To clarify the agency's philosophy, Ilene changed the name to Tanen Directed Advertising. To enhance the agency's lifestyle, the office moved to Westport, Connecticut. In 1998, the agency outgrew its space and moved to glorious offices in historic South Norwalk, overlooking the Long Island Sound.
