Rise Bahamas is a grassroots activist movement founded by Terneille Burrows in 2014 after the “Occupy Rawson Square” 48 hour protest for government accountability. Rise seeks to foster greater citizen participation while demanding better governance, accountability & transparency. Anti-corruption reform is the primary aim, while community galvanization related to the protection of vulnerable groups such as women, children and the elderly is another function of the group.
