CORANGAMITE CATCHMENT MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY has been established by the Victorian Government in 1997 as a statutory authority under the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1994 and the Water Act 1989. Its primary role is to oversee land, biodiversity and water resources management based on an understanding and commitment to sustainable use, conservation and restoration of those resources, in an area stretching from Geelong to Ballarat and along the coast to Peterborough.
