I offer counseling services for individuals, couples and families. I am client centered in my approach. Every person and every situation is different. I value people’s experiences and strengths. I like to build on what it working and evaluate what is not working. We often develop ways of coping with problems that worked for us in the past, except those ways of coping are no longer working in the present and something needs to shift or change. Therapy offers a safe place to express one’s fears and worries. Change is not easy and it can be stressful if we do not have the tools to manage the emotional turmoil it can bring. Even the most subtle change can bring about a significant result. Therapy offers a safe place to process feelings and explore ways to challenge and grow personally. When working with families, I like to explore cultural differences within the family and how those differences affect communication. I specialize in bi-cultural issues that affect families when generations within the same household have different cultural backgrounds and experiences.
