Founded in 1980 by Charles “Chuck” Heringer, Jr., Herco was and remains a family oil and gas business. After returning from war in 1952, Chuck started as a scout in the oil fields of Texas and eventually moved to Billings, Montana, founding Herco. Two generations later, Herco is now owned and managed by Charles “Bucky” Heringer, III—an oil and gas veteran since 1974. Continuing a family tradition that started over 61 years ago, Chuck’s grandchildren have chosen careers in natural resources and play integral roles in the day-to-day workings of Herco. From day one, Chuck insisted on integrity and hard work; these values remain the cornerstone of Herco today.
