PiXCL Automation Technologies Inc.
www.pixcl.comPiXCL has extensive expertise in USB sensors, controls, displays, custom USB firmware and advanced image processing hardware and software. We used and still support Windows 10 for most applications, and have now moved to linux (Raspbian, ubuntu and Debian) and are developing USB support libraries for our USB devices. With the Nov 2018 publication of the US National Climate Assessment, it has become clear that WE (humanity) are the problem (despite what Trump thinks...) and that WE as a society, to survive in the short term and provide a future for the next generations, have to find ways to help solve it. To this end we have partnered with a former National Research Council Canada scientist to create create a carbon-neutral residential microGRID energy system based on a combination of solar, geothermal and Tesla PowerWall2 battery storage. The PiXCL contribution is providing a multi-node monitoring and control system based on RaspberryPi 3 devices, plus array of sensors and other hardware that monitors the geothermal, solar and Tesla sub-systems. The control interface is created using the GTK Framework, and is designed to be portable to other linux systems. In our lab we have it running on ubuntu 18.04 (Intel) system. The geothermal control node uses MQTT to pass sensor and control data to other nodes in the project Control Room.
