Australian Horizons Foundation

The Australian Horizons Foundation is a national charity under the banner of our mother charity, Gulf Horizons Foundation. Formed in 2009 and based in Queensland in the outback town of Georgetown in Far North Queensland, the Australian Horizons Foundation is the national arm focused on providing humanitarian aid for Australians in rural and remote communities. Formed out of a need by a group of people in the Gulf of Carpentaria when the communities were enduring hardship following several negative impacts out of their control, the foundation soon saw a need to establish a national arm to address the need to ensure that small towns across the country were supported both socially and economically. Mental health, employment, sustainability and the overall wellbeing of these small communities are the focus of the charity along with closing the gap between city and country. We all need a farmer. Farmers are small businesses and these entities support our small towns. Our small towns are full of history, culture and spirit with so much to offer and yet so many are left behind by the majority of Australians. Did you know that if only 10% of Australians who ventured overseas went inland our economy would be fixed in a jiffy along with the employment, mental and economic benefits? Our website is: www.australianhorizonsfoundation.org We have Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Our board are all volunteers and we have a growing volunteer base around the country both on and offline. We invite individuals and business to come and join us - let distance not divide us. Note: ALL donations are 100% tax deductible as we have DGR status.
