Ч’ай малко [tʃaɪ 'malko]) a wordplay. The term CHA originated in China and spread the world by land following the Silk Road in different variations to refer to what is now the most popular drink on Earth: TEA. In Bulgaria we use Cyrillic and spell it as ЧАЙ /tʃaɪ/. However, in informal Bulgarian, Ч’АЙ, pronounced the same and spelled with an apostrophe, is used as the short word for WAIT. When combined with the word малко /malko/, meaning a little/a bit, you get Ч’АЙ МАЛКО – a very popular informal expression to say HOLD ON. We use "Chai malko" to ask for some extra time: to think about something, to reflect or simply to make time for what matters to us. And isn’t CHAI the drink that we always associate with some peaceful, quality time? So here we are: Chai malko, the Bulgarian brand where we make time to enjoy quality tea. Quality always comes at a price, they say. At Chai malko we say that quality comes with time and if we make the effort to make time for what truly matters, we would inevitably achieve quality in our lives.
