The Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services has established an Independent Intake Organization (IIO) to help support children and youth on the autism spectrum and their caregivers. The IIO will provide care coordination, service navigation, research, and healthcare education. HealthCare 365 and Autism Ontario will be responsible for providing care coordination and service navigation for this program. Autism Ontario (legally incorporated as Autism Society Ontario) is a charitable organization with a history of over 49 years representing the thousands of people on the autism spectrum and their families across Ontario. Made up of knowledgeable parents, professionals, and autistic self-advocates who can speak to the key issues that impact those with autism and their families, Autism Ontario is the province’s leading source of information and referral on autism, and one of the largest collective voices representing the autism community. There are seven regions across the province of Ontario. HealthCare 365 specializes in the coordination of care for those people navigating the healthcare system.
