Its worldwide activities focus on social and educational projects, especially the training of trainers as well as the advancement of women and children. The Limmat Foundation pursues the vision of a world in which all people receive training that empowers them to shape their communities responsibly and for the good of all. With its well-established Project Center, the Limmat Foundation offers donors (private individuals, companies as well as foundations) tailored solutions for the implementation of their philanthropic ideas. At the same time, it supports its local partners in providing quality knowledge and skills. Thanks to its many years of experience, the Limmat Foundation has built up a worldwide network of professional and competent local partners, who realize the donors' projects according to local possibilities. Through its sustainable and future-oriented commitment, the Limmat Foundation thus forms a stable bridge between donors and beneficiaries. Since the beginning in 1972, the Limmat Foundation has supported more than 1000 projects in 81 countries with donations of more than 300 million CHF in order to improve the material as well as immaterial living conditions of its beneficiaries on an individual and social level. Currently, it counts 15 sub-foundations and more than 30 earmarked funds. The Limmat Foundation has no political or religious affiliation. Rather it puts the Christian values such as solidarity, justice, peace, human dignity and family at the center of its work. Its projects are open to all people, regardless of their social origin, ethnic group or religion.
