Sgt. Jeremy James, a 23-year veteran with the Detroit Police Department, is currently assigned as a Training Coordinator at the Detroit Police Training Center, responsible for the facilitation of training to thousands of officers in Defensive Tactics, CPR/AED/First Aid, Use of Force, Basic Life Support, Tactical-Medical First Aid, Mental Health, Patrol Mountain Bike, and Health and Wellness. He has received numerous awards during his tenure, which include the Outstanding Performance Award during his tenure at the Academy, the Spirit of Detroit Award in 2008, and the union Leadership Award in 2015. His experience includes street patrol, special operations, and nearly 7 years of internal investigations (Force Investigation), having investigated over 100 fatal and non-fatal Use of Force incidents by department members.
