The Holocaust Commission of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater has a variety of programs that encourage teachers, students, and the community at large to apply the lessons of history to the moral decisions they make each day. Programs include What We Carry, a multimedia presentation of individual survivors' stories appropriate for schools, military, and community audiences; annual writing and visual arts competitions for students; annual excellence in education awards for teachers; an annual Holocaust Commemoration; and a biennial educators' conference.
