www.downstate.eduThe Orthopaedic Laboratory of Brooklyn at SUNY Downstate is the robust investigative arm of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Over the last decade, the laboratory has elevated its presence within the academic orthopaedic community, with podium and poster presentations at nearly all major and subspecialty meetings and the local, national, and international stages. Our laboratory is dedicated to the strong union between basic and foundational sciences as well as clinical investigation within orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal health. Our multi-faceted research program involves the participation of faculty members, orthopaedic surgery and PMR residents, and post-doctoral research fellows. Our division also oversees the involvement of over 70 students, many of whom are SUNY Downstate College of Medicine students, while others are visiting and international medical students, undergraduates, and high school students. Combining these forces with our dedicated bioengineering scientists, our division is exploring basic science and clinical orthopaedic research and solidifying our scientific contribution to the field of orthopaedic surgery.
