Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries, Turkey’s first employers’ union and the representative of Turkey's industrial enterprises, was established in İstanbul in 1959. Working in cooperation with employers in metal and industries, the target of Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries, is to provide sustainable and extensive peaceful working conditions, develop well-balanced, reliable, and stable industrial relations while increasing the competitiveness and the productivity of industry. In line with its members’ and their employees’ common interests based on a mutual trust and dialogue, Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries, aims to contribute to the development of Turkey’s economy. Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries concludes collective agreements covering workplaces that directly employ more than 205 thousand employees through its 257 members. Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries’ members are among leading companies in automotive industry, iron-steel-casting, white goods, and other metal industries. The members contribute with more than 70 billion dollars to the economy every year and constitute 40 percent of Turkey's export value.
