The Western and Central New York Chapter of ALA is a non-profit educational organization serving administrative professionals from private law firms, corporate legal departments, and government agencies in the upstate New York legal community. The mission of the WCNY ALA is to provide a local forum of professional and educational enrichment. Prior to becoming the Western and Central New York Chapter of ALA, the WCNY was called the Rochester Chapter of the ALA with the majority of the members being from the Rochester region. As the ALA grew so did the interest in membership and thus the Rochester chapter changed its name and geographic focus in 2016 to include its neighboring cities to its East and West, Buffalo and Syracuse.
