Amaroo Equine
www.amarooequine.com.auWe are passionate about horses and supporting people to live the lives they want to lead. We enjoy welcoming people to experience our property, escape the hustle and bustle of city life and every day stresses. Amaroo Equine is situated on 105 acres in the Megalong Valley, Blue Mountains NSW – a 20 minute drive from Blackheath through spectacular rainforest and country roads. Our property is surrounded by extraordinary Australian bushland, majestic sandstone escarpments & mountain plateaus. Amaroo boasts a large fully fenced sand arena, round yard, a barn with workshop area & kitchen facilities, bush tracks, natural springs & large dam to explore & experience – rich with native wildlife. As part of the Gundungurra First Nation territory, the Megalong Valley is profoundly important to Aboriginal people and rich in heritage. Megalong is thought to have meant ‘Valley Under the Rock’ and Amaroo meaning ‘a beautiful place’. At Amaroo, we offer a range of services and programs centered around our horses as co-facilitators of Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). In EAL, participants are offered safe (physically and emotionally) experiences with horses for the purpose of exploring self-experience in relationship, building self-awareness, building awareness of patterns or habits that are no longer serving us well, developing social and emotional skills, and addressing learning goals participants have identified. Our Individual or Group Sessions are designed to meet the needs of our participants and can incorporate mentoring & beginner horse riding lessons with a focus on horse care and developing a sense of responsibility. EAL can benefit everyone, from NDIS participants, Corporate Groups, Students, those experiencing anxiety, stress, grief and loss to those wanting to explore themselves and begin living the life they want to live.
