www.catrac.orgThe Capital of Texas Regional Advisory Council (CATRAC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, tax-exempt member organization, designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to develop, implement and maintain regional healthcare and emergency healthcare preparedness systems. CATRAC members include hospitals and healthcare systems, EMS and fire agencies, first responder organizations, long-term care facilities, and other public health, healthcare and emergency preparedness organizations. CATRAC serves the eleven (11) counties of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, San Saba, Travis, and Williamson Counties. re providers within the counties served; provide a forum to discuss regional health care issues and emergency preparedness; provide ongoing education regarding regional healthcare issues and emergency preparedness; improve public awareness of methods for accessing the train and health care system and preventing injury; and support the process for interfacility transfers from stabilization through rehabilitation. Additionally, CATRAC programmatically administers the Emergency Medical Task Force (EMTF) for Region 7, which covers 29 counties in central Texas (TSAs L, M, N, and O). CATRAC objectives are to: decrease morbidity and mortality that result from injury and illness; assist member organizations to achieve the highest level of healthcare and emergency preparedness; encourage activities designated to promote cooperation between member organizations; improve funding of trauma care providers within the counties served; provide a forum to discuss regional health care issues and emergency preparedness; provide ongoing education regarding regional healthcare issues and emergency preparedness; improve public awareness of methods for accessing the train and health care system and preventing injury; and support the process for interfacility transfers from stabilization through rehabilitation.
