Started by Socorro and Jaime Herrera in a converted outdoor shoeshine station, Yuca's came to be known for its Yucatan-style cooking and community involvement. Today, the Herrera's still serve their delicious fare out of the 10 x 10 Hut - only now it's to two or three generations of satisfied customers. Yuca's obtained its first customers in a quite unordinary fashion - Jaime Jr. flagged cars over from the sidewalk in front of the Hut and offered them a deal they couldn't resist, "Try it and love it or, we'll give you double your money back!" Not only did we not have to return anyone's money, they helped us spread the word!
