Melbourne Womens Fund
www.melbournewomensfund.orgMelbourne Women’s Fund is a Giving Circle that engages people in philanthropy to benefit vulnerable women and families in Melbourne. We are a charitable fund account within Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, which is a leading philanthropic organisation and the largest community foundation in Australia. This is done by pooling members' financial, intellectual, professional and personal resources to support non-profit organisations working to assist these individuals. Our members democratically vote annually to decide which organisations receive grants from the funding pool we have accumulated by the end of the financial year. Together, we make a stronger impact than as individual donors. We also deliver events that inform our membership about issues (such as homelessness, family violence and economic insecurity) that affect women and families, work to build awareness and general support for our finalist non-profits and provide members with opportunities to develop skills/knowledge within the philanthropic sector through MWF management experience. Membership is open to anyone 18 years and older. We have three membership categories: Next Gen (18-30 yrs old inclusive, $500 annual tax-deductible donation plus $65 non-tax deductible admin fee); Standard (31+ yrs old, $1,000 annual tax-deductible donation plus $132 non-tax deductible admin fee); and Life (one-off $25,000 tax-deductible donation, no admin fee). This page will provide updates on our events and what we are learning as we travel together on our giving journey.
