The Asian Spirit Steamship Company GmbH & Cie. KG is a spinn-off company owned by the family of Bertram R.C.Rickmers. The Rickmers family is well known in the industry with more than 183 years of history in shipping. This new investment vehicle is focusing on the establishment of a new modern and sustainable fleet of container vessels in the smaller and medium sized feeder segment. This segment is seen as a potential growth area throughout the industry. After exploring and studying the feeder segment for over 24 month the ASSC has signed a newbuilding program of a total of 8 modern designed 1.162 TEU eco container vessels. This new ship owning setup will mainly focus on the latest environmental engine technology’s, which includes scrubber solutions and LNG drives to provide a long lasting and contemporary fleet to our clients.
