We invest in companies that are unable to achieve their potential due to one or more of the following issues: (i) inadequate capitalization, (ii) untapped potential from "last mile" capex, (iii) M&A integration. (iv) succession, (v) underperformance, (vi) a non-core division of a large corporation, or (vii) other events with a material, but temporary, impact on operations. We focus on structured investments that provide a combination of recurrent income and capital gains and have strong downside protection through contractual and structural seniority. Synergy has a strong operating team with working experience in over 100 countries. This allows us to identify pockets of value that other investors may not have the capabilities to assess or pursue. More importantly, it allows the Fund to carry out operational improvements to drive value creation. This is especially important in cyclical industries where cost efficiency is the primary performance driver during downturns. Investment size: Our typical investment size is US$ 20 million – US$50 million. We also leverage our co-investor network and arrange investment consortiums as required.
