I apprenticed as a furniture maker in 1997 in Miami Fl. under the expert tutelage of a German Master furniture maker. Even though it was a very arduous schooling I found it to be very gratifying work. I have been doing it in some capacity ever since. I began doing furniture restoration on my own around the year 2000. Growing up my father had been a furniture restorer and I had a certain amount of reverence for the trade. In 2001 I then started the "WoodSmith furniture restorer" and have maintained that business ever since. Over the last few years I have gotten away from the restoration and focused more on furniture design and building.
