Shija Hospitals And Research Institute Pvt. Ltd. is a pioneer private health care centre in Manipur in providing advanced health care with the motto of "World class healthcare at the doorstep at an affordable cost". With the support of the people of Manipur and its neighbouring states Shija Hospitals has been successful, to a great extent, in bringing highly needed medical technology and know how in the region. Shija Hospitals began as a consultation chamber with minor operation facility attached to a pharmacy at Paona Bazar, Imphal, in June 1985 to provide basic health care. Shifted to RIMS Road in a building with 9 beds and major operation facilities, on 3rd October, 1988. Installed laparoscopic surgery equipment (key-hole surgery) for the first time in Manipur in April, 1996.
