River Plate House Capital Management Inc. ("River Plate House") is a unique, solutions based, global alternative investment manager helping investors protect the purchasing power of their capital from changing real interest rates through a global government bond long/short investment strategy. River Plate House also offers solutions for managing Asset/Liability Ratio and Longevity Risk. The firm was founded by Michael H. Hyman and Julian C. Smith; along with majority partner Integrated Asset Management Corp. ("IAM"), in Toronto, Canada in May 2010. IAM provides seed capital, corporate governance and business support to River Plate House. River Plate House is registered with the Ontario Securities Commission as Portfolio Manager, Investment Fund Manager and Exempt Market Dealer. Global investors face three (3) fundamental economic and financial problems, (i) protecting the purchasing power of their capital; (ii) ensuring that they have the assets to meet our future liabilities (Liability Driven Investment - LDI); and (iii) ensuring that they have sufficient assets to outlive our life expectancy, now known as Longevity Risk. River Plate House believes that it has the investment philosophy, process and strategy to help solve these problems. River Plate House has observed 3 forces emerging from within the global economy that will affect all investors in years to come. These 3 forces include (i) the global middle class expanding by two (2) billion people by 2030 or hundreds of millions annually; consuming commodities, consumables and money at an exponential rate; (ii) the weight of government debt from expanding government deficits will cause additional pressures for real interest rates to rise, as the competition for global capital intensifies; and (iii) governments intervening through their central banks, printing money, which will cause excess liquidity. Ultimately, all three forces will produce inflation.
