Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre
www.dchc.org.ukOur specialist Holiday Centre, situated close to the seafront in Skegness not only helps the children have a great time and make new friends, it contributes to their education and life skills. A holiday is something that many of us take for granted, but for the children who come to our centre it is a rarity, even a one-off. Many of them have never been away, and may have no prospect of doing so. Just a week away at the Centre can make a huge difference. It gives the youngsters time and space to relax, make new friends and enjoy themselves in a supportive and structured environment, and in the care of our fully trained staff. Recognised by the Local Education Authority as providing a Secondary Educational Experience as part of the overall education of the children who attend, it contributes to their personal and social development, giving them confidence and self-esteem, as well as providing memories that last a lifetime. For a week, they can just enjoy being on holiday. For their parents, guardians or carers too, it offers some important respite time, safe in the knowledge that the children are being well looked after. DCHC, established in 1891, provides 450+ holiday places per season, which runs between April and October.
