The Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders (ACE) is an intensive, specialized program for the treatment of individuals with eating disorders. Since these disorders involve disrupted eating, relationship difficulties and medical complications, many people suffering from eating disorders require more intensive treatment than is possible in general outpatient practices. However, inpatient hospitalization may further disrupt relationships, school or careers in an atmosphere which is more restrictive than necessary. ACE has been providing day treatment and intensive outpatient programs since 1993. ACE's highly effective, integrated approach uses extensive education and cognitive-behavioral techniques to treat eating disorders, while also focusing on relationship and emotional difficulties.
