Jotun is one of the world's leading manufacturers of paints, coatings and powder coatings. Jotun was founded in Norway in 1926, and after great domestic success, an international expansion started in 1962 which has since taken Jotun all around the world. Activities started in the EECA region in 1989 when Jotun established a sales office for wet paints in Istanbul, which was followed by the start of production in 1993. Meanwhile, Jotun acquired Oxyplast in 1989, which was a powder production factory in the Cerkezkoy area in Turkey. In the following years Jotun opened Sales Offices in St. Petersburg (Russia), Constanta (Romania), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Almaty (Kazakhstan). Today, Jotun employs more than 600 employees in its East Europe and Central Asia Region, and has offices in Turkey, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan. High quality wet and powder coatings are being produced in the region and a state of the art factory designed to produce both powder and wet coatings will soon start its operations in St.Petersburg, Russia.
