We identify, educate, support, and equip volunteer Guardians Ad Litem to advocate for children in the dependency court and make recommendations to the court that serve the best interest of each child. Our goal is to ensure all children have a safe, loving, and forever home as quickly as possible. Advocates receive extensive core and ongoing training as well as a supervisor to assist them in their work. They are assigned a case with one or more children who are in foster care or are living with a relative. Advocates are investigators. They meet with each child at least once a month to see how they are doing. They talk with parents, social workers, teachers, and others involved in the child's life. Based on what advocates find out, they make a recommendation to the court as to what is in the child's best interest. Our goal is to find a safe, loving, and forever home for every child as quickly as possible.
