BeMeSo vzw, the independent association of primary care software suppliers in Belgium, was founded in 2018 with a clear vision of the healthcare sector in Belgium: enabling all healthcare providers to make optimal use of digital health and eHealth. The digitization of healthcare is advancing rapidly in Belgium. The government, both federal and regional, has an ambitious strategy and concrete plans. In order for the primary care provider to be able to make optimal use of digital health, eHealth, eHealth, mHealth, tele-health, integrated care, multidisciplinarity, etc ... a good integration with the software package used is crucial. Software suppliers are a true partner and guide for healthcare providers to make their practice more "future-proof" and also play an important role in sharing expertise in the multidisciplinary collaboration of healthcare actors around their patient. Software and training are an important cornerstone to the realization of these ambitions and plans. The software suppliers are convinced that proactive involvement can lead to a more qualitative and smooth implementation. This could avoid some problems when introducing new services. That is why many suppliers have united in the non-profit organization BeMeSo. BeMeSo also aims to represent the first-line software suppliers in Belgium at policy level, both federal and regional.
