Ōtepoti Games Company (ŌGC) is a fresh new studio that puts people at the heart of everything we do. It was established in 2020 in response to substantial local games industry cutbacks, just prior to the first NZ lockdown. At the same time, some small pre-funded educational game development opportunities arose......the timing and circumstances clicked into place, and Ōtepoti Games Company was born. ŌGC is based in beautiful Ōtepoti | Dunedin on the South Island of Aotearoa | New Zealand, and the team draws substantial inspiration from the stunning local environment, the rich history and culture of the local Kai Tahu iwi, and the diverse artisanal culture that the area nurtures. We build games that inspire and entertain, create a sense of wellbeing, celebrate our natural environments and emotionally connect players with relatable characters and interesting narratives.
