PQCHC-ITP Mentorship Program
www.pqchc.comThe ITP mentorship program “From volunteerism to employment” is an on the job mentorship program offered by Pinecrest Queensway Community Health Centre that pairs Internationally Trained Professionals with staff, other CHCs and community based organizations, according to their education, training and experience for an unpaid three-month placement. Operating for over four years now, the program has supported over 170 internationally trained professionals, and 65% of the participants who completed the program have gained employment related to their field of expertise. Please note that this program is currently available in English only. Mission The ITP mentorship program’s mission is to support internationally trained professionals (ITPs) using their talents ,education, training and experience in the Canadian work environment; making a significant contribution to communities served by organizations through different services. This sector specific experience will help ITPs to develop professional networks, ongoing workplace skills and gain the confidence they need to succeed in the job market and integrate successfully in the Canadian society. Vision Together we seek to make valuable contributions to the Canadian society where ITP’s have meaningful opportunities according to their talents, skills and expertise in the country they have chosen as home.
