All of our programs and services are developed and executed according to these beliefs. Downstreet strengthens the communities of Central Vermont by engaging with people, providing affordable homes, and connecting people to the resources and services they need to thrive. With over 30 years of experience and expertise addressing Vermont’s housing affordability gap, we generate innovative solutions that provide opportunities for stable, long-term housing while also creating resilience in our communities. Through over 50 properties in our rental portfolio and 160+ single-family homes in our down-payment assistance program, we provide more than 550 Vermont households with a high-quality, safe place to live that is also financially viable. But we don’t stop there – developing housing and creating opportunities for affordable homes is only the tip of the iceberg. While having a place to call home may be the foundation upon which one’s life is built, there is so much more that is needed for long-term stability and success. Vermonters need access to education, jobs, nutritious food, healthcare, transportation, and vibrant communities. It is with all of this in mind that Downstreet continues to think strategically about the future of housing in Vermont.
