With its headquarters in Boulogne Billancourt, (near Paris) the Renault Group is made up of the Renault and subsidiaries including Alpine, Automobile Dacia, Renault Samsung Motors and AvtoVAZ. Aside from the production of technologically advanced and well-designed passenger and commercial vehicles, Renault is renowned for its role in motorsport, particularly rallying, Formula 1 and Formula E. Renault entered South Africa in the early 50’s, with the first distribution of Renault vehicles through Curry Motors, and the first Renault Head Office subsequently being established in 1998. Renault s.a.s and Imperial Holdings entered into an agreement in June 2002 within the ambit a joint venture. In 2013, Imperial Holdings acquired majority shareholding and following restructuring within the holding group, Motus Holdings became majority shareholder in 2018. Renault South Africa now stands strong with a national footprint of over 80 Dealerships, comprised of Renault Owned, Multi-franchised and Independent Dealer operations. Renault South Africa prides itself on its diverse range of vehicles, spanning from entry level vehicles through to top-of-the range SUV offerings. As well as innovative financial and aftersales products, through our Parts Distribution Centre (PDC), located in Spartan, Johannesburg allowing for the comprehensive parts stocking to assist with the ease of local supply. South Africa is considered as an important market for Renault’s worldwide growth due to its growing automotive market.
