For many years, Dope Dame Founder Rashida Clarke had an idea of women and girls of color feeling their strength and their power in a way that wasn’t complex. That a Dope Dame could put on a shirt from the line and be reminded of her worth. While the clothing line came about in early 2019, the brand Dope Dame has been hosting events in the greater NYC since 2018. The events specifically targeted Black & Brown people to promote a free exchange of resources, empowerment, strength, and unity. Our events include the Black Women Magic Panel & Brunch, The Let’s Talk About Love Brunch, and various networking mixers.
